Interesting Note: Golden was known in the earlier days as "The Cache" or "Kicking Horse Flats". Later it was renamed "Golden City" but after a time the "City" was dropped.

Golden is where the Kicking Horse River meets the Columbia River, the two rivers form part of the longest pristine Wetlands in North America. The town is also Home to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, the newest all season alpine escape in the Canadian Rockies. Golden's diverse range of activities has something to offer for everyone.
